250th Anniversary of our Nation's Independence

 5 Days, 4 Nights

  

Day 1:  Travel to north to historic Boston, Massachusetts, “the birthplace of the American Revolution.” We arrive in time enjoy a relaxing meal at a local restaurant.  Dinner is included tonight (D). 

Day 2:  We meet our guide and travel to the year 1620 in Plymouth, the home of our Pilgrim Father's and one of the country's first settlements.  We stop at the Forefather's Monument, the largest solid granite monument in the United States before visiting Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower II.  Lunch will be on your own in the enchanting seaside town of Plymouth.  We learn about the oldest town in New England with a visit to Plimoth Patuxet Museums, the world-renowned living history museum.  After a day of touring, we enjoy the The Story of Thanksgiving Dinner: Plimoth Patuxet's most popular dining experience while being entertained by historical performers.  (B,D) 

Day 3:  Today we travel from 1636 through 1775 with a tour of Boston and Cambridge.  We enjoy a narrated driving tour of Historic Boston, Harvard University and Cambridge, the unique town that is home to the college.  Lunch is on your own at Quincy Market, Boston's 250 year old marketplace.  You will have time to visit Fanueil Hall, where merchants have sold their wares since 1742. Next we follow a guided tour along the Freedom Trail while “historic figures” explain Boston's Revolutionary history and we visit the Old North Church.  Next, we tour the Paul Revere House, downtown Boston's oldest building.  We wrap up the day in Boston Harbor with a premier Sunset Dinner Cruise.  Relax and take in the views of the harbor and glistening city lights while enjoying upscale dining from the ship's climate-controlled decks.  (B,D) 

Day 4: We meet our local guide for a personal “colonial character” tour through the  Boston Tea Party ships & Museum.  The museum features full-scale replicas, artifacts and interactive elements.  Meet “Sam Adams” and participate in the re-enactment of the destruction of tea.  Board a tall ship and marvel at one of only two known surviving tea crates.  Next travel through Lexington and Concord en-route to the Concord's Colonial Inn.  While en-route, hear about the Battles of Lexington and Concord, the first major military engagements of the American Revolutionary War.  Enjoy light lunch and Afternoon Tea at the historic Concord's Colonial Inn before we head to the Charleston Navy Yard.  You can board the USS Constitution aka Old IronsidesLaunched in Boston in 1797, the USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world.  Take a self-guided tour on this famous ship and visit the USS Constitution Museum.  We conclude the evening with a dinner at the Chart House Restaurant, the former home of John Hancock's “Counting House.”  (B,L,D) 

Day 5: We say goodbye to New England and head back home with a newfound understanding and appreciation of our Nation's Independence. (B)
