New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville

Day 1:  We begin our tour aboard our deluxe motorcoach, traveling to Knoxville, TN.  

Day 2:  We depart for Chattanooga and enjoy an exciting day of sightseeing in the

area.

We will visit Rock City Gardens on the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway.  Inside Lookout Mountain enjoy a visit to thundering Ruby Falls.  At 145 feet, it is the world’s largest underground waterfall.  Find the spot on Lookout Mountain where, on a clear day, you can see seven states!  Tonight we spend the night in Chattanooga, where we relax over a delicious dinner(B, D)

Day 3:  We continue south, enroute to our destination for the next three nights, New Orleans.  Our accommodations will be in the heart of the French Quarter at the Wyndham Hotel.  This evening we enjoy dinner(B, D)

Day 4:  An exciting day of sightseeing awaits us as we enjoy a guided tour of New Orleans.  Our tour includes the French Quarter, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral and the Hurricane Cathedral flood area.  Cruise the Mississippi River this afternoon on the Natchez Riverboat.  Another dinner is included tonight.  (D)

Day 5:  This morning we step back in time and visit a southern plantation home, the Houmas House Plantation and Gardens.  We later visit Mardi Gras World to see the famous floats and learn the history of how Mardi Gras magic is made.  The remainder of the day is free to explore New Orleans.

Day 6:  A travel day finds us arriving in the Memphis, TN area where we spend the night.  

Day 7:  We tour Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, before enjoying a taste of Memphis cuisine at a popular local restaurant.  We continue to our home for the next two nights in Nashville.  (B, L)

Day 8:  We spend the morning touring Nashville, featuring the city’s famous landmarks.  This afternoon we relax on a luncheon cruise aboard the General Jackson Showboat.  Tonight we attend a performance at the Grand Ole Opry to complete an exciting day in Nashville. The Grand Ole Opry is celebrating their 100th anniversary and Opry 100 is going to be the most thrilling year in country music and we want to celebrate with you. All year long, the Opry will have bigger shows, bolder moments, huge stars, and surprise guests, delivering a fresh mix of your favorites and fresh sounds. Be there as we push the boundaries of country music and the Opry with our most ambitious and exciting shows yet! (B, L)

Day 9:  We tour the Country Music Hall of Fame before beginning our trip home.  We spend the night in Morristown, TN.  (B)

Day 10:  We complete the last leg of our southern sojourn with fond memories of our time in New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville.  (B)
