Day 1: We depart this morning on an exciting western journey that combines the spectacular Black Hills of South Dakota and the popular Yellowstone National Park. The sights that will be seen on this tour will last a lifetime. We travel aboard our deluxe motorcoach enroute to Elkhart, IN.
Day 2: We travel to Chicago, where upon arrival our local guide will show us the highlights of the “Windy City.” We also view Chicago from a unique perspective aboard an architectural boat tour that showcases the magnificent buildings of Chicago. Tonight you will be our guests for dinner at a popular local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 3: Following breakfast, check out and travel to the Wisconsin Dells. Upon arrival, climb aboard a Duck Boat for a one-hour cruise of the Lower Dells, then enjoy some free time in the area. Lodging tonight is in the Wisconsin Dells with dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)
Day 4: After breakfast, check out and head west to Mitchell, South Dakota, where you will visit the A-Maze-Ing Corn Palace before checking into your lodging. (B)
Day 5: We check out and depart westward, traveling through the Badlands National Park with a stop at the visitor’s center. Continue to your lodging in the Rapid City area, where dinner awaits. After dinner, depart to see the Lighting Ceremony on Mt. Rushmore. (B,D)
Day 6: We depart with our local guide and return to Mt. Rushmore National Memorial to walk the President’s Trail. Stop at Crazy Horse Memorial and visit the Museum of the North American Indian. Visit Custer State Park and take the Buffalo Safari Jeep Tour, followed by a Chuckwagon Cookout adventure. (B, D)
Day 7: We travel from Rapid City to Cody, visiting the Buffalo Bill Museum enroute. Following dinner, put on your western gear as we attend the Cody Rodeo for some bronco-busting fun. (B,D)
Day 8: It is a short journey to wonderful Yellowstone Park. A local guide will direct us to all regions of the park, including Mammoth Hot Springs and Old Faithful. Yellowstone is the world’s first national park and features outstanding natural spectacles, including renowned geysers and thermal basins. We spend two nights in the Yellowstone Park area. (B)
Day 9: We continue our tour at Yellowstone, viewing all the areas we did not tour on Day 8. Dinner will be included tonight. (B, D)
Day 10: We travel into magnificent Grand Teton National Park, one of the world’s most photogenic locations. We will give you free time to explore Jackson Hole, where you may even spot a celebrity. Dinner will be included tonight at a popular restaurant. (B, D)
Day 11: We begin our journey home, traveling to Scottsbluff, NE.
Day 12: Watch the scenery as we continue traveling eastward to St. Joseph, Missouri. (B)
Day 13: Tonight’s destination is Springfield, Illinois, stopping along the way in St. Louis Missouri to experience the Gateway Arch. We will ride the tramway to the top to see the view. There will be time to explore and lunch on your own. (B, D)
Day 14: We travel to the Indianpolis Speedway. A farewell dinner will allow us to recount the memories of our western journey. We spend the night in the Columbus area. (B, D)
Day 15: Our western excursion comes to an end, as we arrive back home late afternoon.
